For World Sommelier Day, Romain and the team stepped beyond the cellar and into the still room - spending time with the makers behind one of our local distilleries to learn more about the craft and character that goes into every bottle of gin.

From botanicals to distillation, it was a chance to deepen our understanding of the stories behind what we pour, and to spend time with the people who shape the flavours of our region.

We’ve also been working on something together behind the scenes… more to come soon. Keep your eyes peeled.

Continuing From the Cellar: this week Romain highlights Barta Öreg Király Dűlő Furmint.

From Hungary’s celebrated Tokaj region, this expressive wine balances vibrant acidity with layers of ripe orchard fruit, mineral tension and remarkable precision. Grown on the historic Öreg Király vineyard, it’s a bottle that speaks beautifully of both place and craftsmanship.

A thoughtful discovery from the cellar, and another reason our wine list continues to invite exploration.
