On February 2nd the Immigration Minister gave a speech outlining his vision for immigration reform. The tone was worrisome and there are rumours that the Government will introduce additional restrictions on international students in an effort to curtail immigration to the “tens of thousands.Guys stand up and stay together for change as we plan to have a campaign for change you will recieve a mail from university on behalf of me and VP welfare and equality (Hannah Horne ) please fill up the survey (http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/internationalemployability)

According to some internal news, the Immigration Minister Damain Green will be announcing many of the new immigration policies in the next 10 days from now. Also, he is giving a speech tomorrow morning. We are expecting the government announcement on the new provision of Post Study Work Visa which requires international students to get a graduate level jobs with more than £20,000 a year, the new "Students Entreperneau Scheme", and many other new immigration policies which will take effect in April 2012. If it does happen in the next 10 days, please do watch out for any news about it

Northumbria students union has organised a global fair on 26 jan 2012. We have different countries taking part and showing its cuulture, tradition food etc. It is also the 63 rd republic day of India. The photo shows the dishes planned to be in the Indian stall. Every one is invited, It starts at 10 am till 3 pm in students Union.

A Global Fair and night out is to be planned for international students in Northumbria students Union. We will be having different students from all over the world represent their countries at the fair and we will provide a small budget for stallholder to be able to buy flags, decorations and food and everyone will be encouraged to wear traditional dress if they have it! It would be great for you to have a stall at the fair. let me know if you want to do this?
