General information

Some of our great reviews: "Kate is a great host and couldn't do enough for us- it was like being with a long lost family friend! Wonderful room and lounge in a lovely area of Newcastle, very close to the city centre, lots to do nearby. Would stay here again in a heartbeat, and thoroughly recommended to anyone else." "We stayed at Kate's place over a weekend - best b&b experience to date. She was super friendly and showed us all the great amenities. It's a really nice basement - well kitted out. Breakfast with Patrick's (now legendary) banana bread, muesli, coffee, fresh berries etc always set us up well for the day! Couldn't recommend any more!" Ross "Kate was the best host we could've wished for - accommodating of our arrival/departure times, provided a delightful breakfast spread (with home baked banana bread!) and was more than helpful to provide tips on things to do in the city. It felt like visiting a good friend. The room is superb and spacious - it is large with a Chinese blind in the middle to split the bedroom area from the living area. The double bed is very comfortable, but the sofas are also very large and the room could easily accommodate 4 guests. We had our private bathroom with shower cubicle which was very clean. The area is less than 5 mins walk from Jesmond metro, but also within walking distance of a lot of shops, restaurants, bars, etc. Doesn't take too long to walk into the city centre either. Overall I couldn't recommend Kate's house enough, it's much better value than any hotels or B&Bs we have found in our search, and I'd definitely return again!" Sarah "My dad and I stayed with Kate from a Saturday morning to a Sunday evening. We were greeted by Kate with a friendly hug and shown around the house and the area in which we would be staying. It is a spacious area in the ground floor of the house which was well furbished and felt just like home. Anything at all we needed Kate was able to sort out for us. She made us feel us welcome by having freshly brewed tea/coffee and a chat after we arrived. The breakfast she made the next day was delicious; porridge, fruit, fresh tea and local honey certainly filled me and my dad up for the day! The home Banana and Wheaten bread was superb! The location is great; a short 5 min walk from Jesmond Station was was so handy for the airport and heading into town. I would have no hesitation at all recommending this accommodation to anyone who is looking for somewhere to stay in Newcastle. Next time I am in Newcastle I will most certainly be using this location!" Paul "Kate Is a wonderful host. She made every effort to make sure that I was comfortable during my stay, even cooking dinner for my son and me one evening. The accommodation itself was very comfortable and it really is a home from home. Next time I visit the area I will have no hesitation in booking a stay at Kate's home." Alison "Had a wonderful sat at Kate's 'Bedroom and private lounge'. Although I was not able to meet her in person the communication was fantastic and everything we needed was available to us. The room is located in a beautiful house in a very nice area of New castle. I had never been before and felt very comfortable navigating the local areas. As for the room, we had a very comfortable stay with lots of small details, which make you feel at home i.e towels/kettle with teas coffees and an excellent breakfast. The house was very relaxing and clean on arrival which is great after a long journey. We'd like to thank Kate for accommodating us and I've already recommended her to my family and friends who are visiting the area. P.s the banana bread is great and we've been making our own since the visit." Hugo "It is a awesome place and really enjoyed my stay, Kate is a very nice host. Highly recomended." Arslan
