A big difference already on this job in Blyth 👏

After lifting the old laminate, we uncovered dry rot in the joists that had caused the floor to drop. Getting everything right underneath was the first step before the new flooring could go down.

Unfortunately in these older houses a lot of the structural joinery starts to give way! But in this case it was rectified in time before it could spread further into the house!

The work so far:
• Repaired and replaced damaged joists
• Installed new tongue-and-groove flooring, then lined with plywood
• Laid grey herringbone click LVT
• Fitted new 8-inch skirting boards and architraves

Just a few finishing touches to go — a small bespoke oak door under the stairs and new window boards to complete the job.

🚪 Do new internal doors mean new frames?

Not always! If your existing frames are sound and suitable, new doors can often be fitted into them.

Before fitting, here’s what we check:

• Condition loose joints, splits and old hinge cut-outs may need repairing.
• Size and shape frames aren’t always square, and doors have limits on how much can be trimmed.
• Hinges and handles heavier doors may need upgraded hinges, while old latch positions can need adjusting.
• Floor clearance especially if you’re planning new carpets or flooring too.

Getting these details right helps your new doors open smoothly, close properly and look the part.

Internal Door Upgrade | Durham 🚪🖤

A brilliant transformation completed on this property in Durham.

We fitted a selection of white cottage-style internal doors, finished with black handles and matching ironmongery, alongside this stunning black glazed feature door separating the kitchen and living space.

The glazed door is definitely the standout for us — it creates separation between the rooms without sacrificing any of the natural light, while the black finish ties in perfectly with the new ironmongery throughout.

Small details that make a massive difference. 👌

Anthracite Grey French Door Upgrade 📍 Longframlington

A recent transformation completed in Longframlington, replacing the existing white French doors with four new sets of anthracite grey French doors, all supplied and fitted by us.

We also upgraded the hardware with satin chrome handles and Ultion thumb-turn cylinders, with the locks keyed alike so one key operates all four sets of doors. 🔐👌

The anthracite grey against the original stonework has completely transformed the rear of the property while still keeping in with its character.

Cramlington Project Complete 🏡🔨

Another transformation completed in Cramlington, with a full package of joinery works carried out throughout the property.

We supplied and fitted 14 new oak internal doors, including glazed doors, all finished with new ironmongery. Alongside the doors, we also installed new flooring and skirting boards, giving the property a fresh, modern finish throughout.

All doors were individually fitted to the existing openings, with plenty of attention to the smaller details to get everything sitting and operating exactly as it should.

Really pleased with how this one turned out — the oak doors work perfectly with the new flooring. 👌

We were brought in to take care of the joinery package for the floor and roof, from forming the floor structure right through to cutting and constructing the full traditional pitched roof.

A cracking project to work on and one that really shows the kind of structural joinery we can take on alongside our usual domestic work.
