We are completely off grid. We produce all of our electricity through solar panels, our water comes from a private spring and our hot water and heating come from our log burner. We are also situated in a 'dark sky'

Nestling amongst the beautiful wild scenery, Singdean is an ideal location for total relaxation. If you feel like doing more, there are beautiful walks, mountain bike trails, landscapes to paint, wildlife to spot, little villages to explore and only about 55 miles from Edinburgh and 45 from Newcastle. Or, if you are a mountain biker, we are very close to Newcastleton 7 Stanes and Kielder - what better way after a days biking than to relax your muscles in the hot tub and sauna. It is also makes for a wonderful holiday for your dogs. The shop is situated in an old barn, you will find a lovely collection of European clothing, footwear and accessories alongside wonderful interior home wares such as snuggle slippers, woollen blankets and big beautiful candle holders. As most of the carefully chosen items are not available anywhere else in the UK and together with such a beautiful location, we hope your shopping experience at Singdean will be a memorable and enjoyable one.

What a wonderful start to 2026. Meet Bill and Dan Amos, father and son, from Canada who just popped by. Bill is a great great great ....grandson of Walter Scott, who lived here at Singdean in the 1800's. Bills great great grandmother is Helen, seen in the picture, and was born in the kitchen where Bill and Dan are standing. Incredible to meet family of Walter Scott who spent a lot of his life here at Singdean. Quite overwhelming for us all! Happy new year x

As the baby house Martin has a rest on the side of the roof, the adults are keeping a look out. I love house martins, so beautiful. They seem to be doing very well this year, I'm so happy!

This day in 2012 we moved here. We have so much thanks for you all for keeping us here. We really couldn't do it without you.

One of our favourite days of the year is when the housemartins return from their Winter in Africa. Today we saw our first 2 and heard their beautiful chitter chatter to each other. They fly to their original nest, one went to their nest on the road side of the house, the other to an awkward nest under a low eave by the front door. I wonder when the rest of their family will arrive 🤍

We are Christa and Del and we live here with our two dogs, Milka and Alpi. I, Christa, and my family on my mothers side, are from the Alps. A stunning region called 'Allgaeu' on the German / Austrian border, so I have half grown up in the mountains.

We left our shop life in Bath in 2011 after twelve years of thinking and dreaming about our wish to combine all of our loves in one place with a bespoke accommodation and boutique. It was an "either we do it now or we stop talking about it" moment. We dreamt of a more Alpine location and after a year and a half of searching, we found Singdean in the beautiful Scottish Borders.

We are very happy to call Singdean home.
