We’re absolutely delighted to announce that The George Hotel has been awarded GOLD for Best Large Floral Display in Newent in Bloom 2026! 🌸🌿

A huge thank you to everyone who helped bring our display to life, and to the Newent & District Business Club for recognising the effort that goes into making our high street a little brighter. 💚

We’re incredibly proud to be part of such a fantastic community and love doing our bit to bring colour, pride and community spirit to Newent. 🌺

Now the dust has settled, the heartbreak of that result has eased I just want to give out a truly heartfelt thanks to everyone that has been a part of this World Cup adventure over the last month at The George Hotel. The laughter, the tension and the hugs of despair. What an amazing rollercoaster month we have had and from myself, Rhod, Emily and all the team we want to say thank you so much for being a part of it.

Hats off to all our team members who worked extra shifts into the early hours and were still cleaning up as the sun was coming up and you were all home in your beds.

Also an extra large shout out to Adam, Ray, George, Aaron and the rest of the Boom Group for all their work behinds the scene with the screen and production work to make it happen.

This won't be a summer we will forget for a long time! Roll on Euro 2028! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
