🏆💚 Well… we have some lovely news!

The Wheatsheaf Inn has been named a FINALIST in the PubAid Community Pub Hero Awards 2026, in the Community Sustainability Hero category! 🌿

We honestly didn’t expect this, and it means a lot to have the work we’ve been doing with our little community recognised.

From litter picks and nature projects, to art days, children, families, local groups and three generations coming together — it’s never been about doing something big. It’s about lots of small things, done together. ❤️

And now our little Exning pub is heading to the
House of Commons on 8th September! 🏛️🥂

Whatever happens on the night, we’re already very proud to be representing Exning.

A MASSIVE thank you to everyone who came to see us this week — and especially last night! ❤️

Our cellar is officially EMPTY… so Roxa & Michael have been FORCED to take a little holiday! 😂🍺🌴

We’re CLOSED Saturday, Sunday, Monday & Tuesday.

But don’t panic… we’ll be back Wednesday with a FULL CELLAR, fresh beer & clean lines! 🍻✨

And Greeny Food Van will be back too! 🌯🍔

What a lovely day! 💚

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and made our first Future Exning – Art & Nature Day so special.

It was wonderful to see children, parents and grandparents creating, learning and enjoying nature together—three generations sharing a great day in our village.

A special thank you to Exning New River for inspiring us with their work, and to FootPlant for finishing the day with an amazing live performance. They brought together a fantastic crowd of families and created such a brilliant atmosphere 🎸

This is just the beginning of our Sustainable Exning Series. Thank you, Exning! 🌿💚
