If you’re staying with us at Ellerton Hall, we highly recommend a short trip over to Much Wenlock. It’s one of the most charming spots in the Shropshire countryside, perfect for a slow afternoon of exploring.

From the stunning ruins of Wenlock Priory to the independent shops on the high street, it feels like stepping back in time. It’s also famously the birthplace of the modern Olympic Games!

☕ Local Tip: Book lunch at Baker & Cook, one of our favourite restaurants to visit in the area.

If you’re staying with us this summer, you have to add Much Wenlock to your list. It’s one of our favourite spots to visit for an afternoon, with medieval ruins, independent bookshops, and some of the best tea rooms in the county.

Walk through the beautiful Wenlock Priory and then head to the high street for a wander. It feels like stepping back in time in the best way possible.
