After many years visiting Cornwall to see family & enjoy this beautiful part of the world, we are thrilled to have our own little part of it since August 2020 and look forward to enjoying it - and sharing it with others - for many years to come. Teal Lodge is a stunning luxury Lodge with private hot tub located on an exclusive Lodge development at a relatively smaller resort . This setting offers

guests the best of both worlds with the option to cosy-up in your own space (with only cows behind the deck and the hot tub to the rear of the Lodge!) or to take advantage of the optional resort facilities including heated indoor swimming pool, restaurant, bar, children’s play area & skate ramp. Located between Newquay & Perranporth on Cornwall’s fabulous north coast, Teal Lodge is a great base for exploring all that Cornwall has to offer:
- many fabulous local beaches within 10-15 mins drive
- the county town of Truro 20 mins away
- outstanding destinations to the south, east & west, all 40-60 mins away
- The Eden Project
- The Lost Gardens of Heligan
- St Michael’s Mount
- Padstow
- Port Isaac
- the Camel Trail
- or you’re welcome to just relax in the Hot Tub or around the Lodge ! Sleeps 4 + 2 infants / young children sharing
- There are 2 good-sized bedrooms - one kingsize & one twin - both with en-suites.
- Travel cot available &/or guests are invited to bring an air-bed or mattress for a 5th / 6th child guest as well as any additional towels & linen
- A maximum of 4 adults are welcome to stay

- modern kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer & washer-dryer
- open-plan living, kitchen & dining area

Gutted to read …

… that a huge cliff collapse overnight has completely blocked the entrance to the Holy Well / St Cuthbert’s cave at Holywell Bay.

So sad if that means no one else will ever get to see it

So hoping that as it happened at night noons was in the cave or near the cliff edge

So grateful to have enjoyed it many times & helped others to do so too 🙏

A reminder of how beautiful yet how fragile nature is

Please please please be careful when walking on coastal paths and stay back from cliff edges at all times 🩵

A treat even before you arrive!

I am often asked to recommend stops en route to TLC:
- to break the journey 🥱
- for something to eat or drink 🍕
- to get supplies 🍞
- for some fresh air & to stretch the legs 🌳

Oh and, therefore, somewhere other than a regular service station 🚘 💨

Now, I actually spent the first 5 years of my corporate career working in the oil industry … and I still remember
🥪 the many lunches in my car acquired from site chillers when I was a Retail Area Manager
⛽️ the days of accompanying tanker drivers on deliveries and the forever smell of tanks & heavy industry in my days as Transport Manager

Please don’t get me wrong - those were happy days with fabulous people, great memories and a brilliant foundation for the years ahead love🥰

- but lunches were definitely not a highlight 🤣

So, it’s fair to say that I do now always try to find alternative stopping points especially when doing long journeys … somewhere fitting for the start to a holiday rather than just to “fuel” the body for the sake of it …

Naturally there are many routes into Cornwall and our guests come from all over the UK and beyond …

But my guess is that most people will pass by Strawberry Fields Farm Shop, just on the Devon/Cornwall border in Lifton (also famous for The Nearly There Trees!) about an hour before reaching TLC

… which makes it a perfect spot for a final stop, to enjoy lunch or afternoon tea in the restaurant or cafe … and/or to pick up some goodies from the Fabulous Farm Shop - best in UK no less - to enjoy on arrival or to put in the fridge / freezer for later 😋

On this occasion we bought some frozen pasties and some deli-counter salads 🥗 as well as some sausages & lamb chops, perfect for a couple of easy dinners during the week…

Oh and some fabulous (and huge!) millionaire’s shortbread & chocolate chip cookies to celebrate our return to TLC that afternoon! 🍪

September & October are great months to visit Cornwall & ideal for couples 🥂 or families with pre-school children 👶🏻 to enjoy a great value late summer ☀️ or early autumn 🍂 break with the warmest sea 🌊 temperatures & without the peak summer crowds 👏.

Don’t forget the fabulous private sunken hot tub 🫧 & the heated indoor pool 🏊‍♀️ just moments from the door & Perranporth beach 🏖️ just 3 miles away too! All resort facilities are available to use with no passes required 👍
