If Cream Tea is your thing, you have to visit Cafe Cloud in Newquay. Here they serve up the best homemade scones with clotted cream and jam in Cornwall.

Traditionally, it has been that people in Devon spread clotted cream on the scone, then finish with a dollop of jam, while the Cornish tradition does the reverse, with jam going first and clotted cream on top.

St Michael's Mount, is the jewel in Cornwall's crown. This, the most famous of Cornwall's landmarks, has a fascinating history, is steeped in both legend and folklore, has stunning panoramic views across Mounts Bay to Lands End and The Lizard, boasts a picturesque harbour and has a spectacular castle, complete with magestic gardens. The Mount is a complete family day out, with quite literally something for everyone.

Access is on foot across the causeway at low tide, or by short ferry crossing at high tide. St Michael's Mount, is "the jewel in Cornwall's crown".

Now in the care of the National Trust, the Mount's castle and gardens are open to the public during weekdays from April to October, and most weekends.

If you're thinking of a holiday in Cornwall this year, St Michael's Mount is well worth a visit.

My favourite sunset location in Newquay has to be the iconic Fistral Beach. Probably the most well known of all the beaches in Newquay and famous for its big waves and surfers. It's also an amazing location to watch the sunset. Take a blanket, sit back, relax and watch it all happen. Alternatively, you could treat yourself to a delicious pizza and a drink from The Stable and watch the sunset on their terrace.

Opened by Rick Stein and Jill Stein in 1975, the Seafood Restaurant is where it all began. Boasting an international reputation for serving the freshest fish and shellfish, Head Chef Pete Murt, General Manager Claire Thomason and the team celebrate Cornish produce, with ingredients sourced locally to create simple seafood dishes and classic flavours.

The heart of our restaurant is a seafood bar where the chefs assemble platters of oysters, langoustines and sashimi. Upstairs, the terrace offers the ideal place to soak up the summer sun, whilst gazing across the scenic Camel Estuary.

Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant is located in Padstow which is less than 30 minutes drive from The Penthouse. They also do a 3 course lunch for £39.95 which is available everyday until 4pm.

Porthmeor is a stunning, white, sandy beach, popular with surfers and swimmers alike and located just a stones through from the centre of St Ives.

A perfect place for a beach picnic - you can easily get all you need from the town, the beach is busy in summer with families who enjoy the easy access and in winter the surf brigade from the town have all those rollers right on their doorstep. Porthmeor is one of only seven beaches in Cornwall that hold the prestigious Blue Flag Award 2019, given in recognition of water quality, safety, environmental management and education.

Porthmeor is located approximately 50 minutes from The Penthouse in Newquay and is definitely worth a visit next time you stay.
