Competition time ‼️

I would like you to design using pictures, drawings and let your imagination get the better of you.

Like all designs, you need a brief !!

I would like low planting, drought resistant (ish) and easy maintenance as I’m getting to old 🤪

Use the bench and also a granite bird bath we have.

I will be digging over the area but remember that some plants like the soil to not be too rich in nutrients and also they like dry stony soil.

I am not sure what the winner 🏆 of the design will receive as a prize but we find a pasty often goes down well.

First and last attempt at being in front of the camera 🎥 🤪😂

It’s not as easy as it looks and so I shall resume my career back behind the camera. I believe the term is “ I have a face for radio”

Winter let in the Garden Room at Penwyth House.

We are offering our Garden Room from November 2nd through to March1st for an incredible £80 per night WITHOUT breakfast.

This room is open all year long but pretty much booked constantly and so we thought this year we would make it available during the Winter months.

We love Newquay and so wanted to highlight just how amazing it is in Winter as well as Summer by offering quality accommodation at very reasonable rates.

Pre solar eclipse drink to get us in the mood before heading to Porth Island to watch with everyone else….

Should be an epic evening on Wednesday watching the eclipse.
We have the required glasses 👓 which we could probably sell for a small fortune at the moment 🤣

We will be heading to Porth Island to watch the event…

Unfortunately both of us will be dead ☠️ the next time a total eclipse happens here in Cornwall as it will be in 2090 🤣🤪 so we best make the most of it this time round.

That’s a wrap for the 2026 edition of Boardmasters music and surf 🏄🏻‍♂️ festival.

Personally we think it’s been the best year for a while.

Newquay put on some fabulous events to appeal to all visitors to our great town whether they were here for the festival or just visiting Cornwall.

This year we had guests who were not here for the festival but loved to get involved in the surf 🏄‍♀️ festival along with our usual mums and dads staying in luxury whilst their kids were camping ⛺️ 😂

The festival was run very well both at Fistral and Watergate with local Porth businesses reporting good takings over the few days over the latter part of last week.

Well done for the great job on social media.
