✨ Thank You, Newquay! ✨

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to the Christmas Light Switch-On event last night. It was a truly fabulous evening, and the majority of feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. It was wonderful to see so many businesses open and join in with the festive spirit.

After the event, the town was absolutely bustling, and it was great to see so many people enjoying what Newquay has to offer. My message to everyone who attended is this: while big events like the Christmas lights help bring people into town, our local businesses need your support all year round, and especially throughout December, which is a particularly quiet time for us in Newquay.

If everyone in the UK bought just one of their Christmas gifts from a small independent business instead of Amazon, that small swap would put an extra £2.6 billion towards the artisans, makers, and independents who are trying to do things better. If we want sustainable, value-driven brands to survive and thrive to become the norm, then we need to support them with our choices.

Newquay is not just for Christmas; it’s for year-round shopping, and so much of that depends on our amazing locals coming back into town and choosing to shop within our fantastic business community.

Once again, thank you to everyone who took part, attended, or supported the event, and for all the amazing feedback. And a special thank you to Newquay Town Council, who worked collaboratively with us to deliver what many are saying is the best Christmas yet!!
