Our Wednesday Music Night this week at the Sandcastle Bar combines live acoustic guitar with soulful vocals from Joe Hurworth Music together with the fun, catchy numbers of his guest Mr Jazz Trumpet.
The guys will be providing the perfect soundtrack to your evening from 6pm - 8pm. Grab your pizza from Reception and head down to the Sandcastle for music, mixology and merriment.

Wednesday night is music night at the Sandcastle Bar. This week we welcome Verity, who performs across the South West, bringing her jazzy vocals and piano blended with current hits. Book your pizza at Reception and then wander down to the bar for an evening of all your favourite tunes whilst you relax into your evening.

It's going to be a great week to watch the skies in Cornwall. On Wednesday 12th August we will be able to witness a partial eclipse as the moon covers the sun with a coverage of around 95% - the most we have seen in Cornwall since the total eclipse in 1999.
From 6.18pm the sky will begin to darken, with the eclipse reaching the maximum totality at 7.15pm before the sun is gradually revealed again. If you've never experienced it before then you're in for something special as the skies darken, the temperature drops and the wildlife react to the changing skies.
The celestial activities are far from over after the sun has set though.
The spectacular Perseid meteor shower peaks on the nights of 12th and 13th August with up to 100 meteors streaking across the night sky under a New Moon which will offer fantastic dark sky conditions.
If you are enjoying a staying with us at Sun Haven then you are just a stones throw from the dark sky discovery site up at Carnewas and Bedruthan Steps, a fantastic place to watch this celestial spectacular. The forecast is for clear skies and warm nights so you really couldn't ask for better conditions for a bit of stargazing.

Boardmasters 2026 is officially here and tomorrow sees the start of the action down at Fistral Beach. Then, from Friday an amazing lineup including Fatboy Slim, Lily Allen and Kasabian as well as a host of other talented artists will be performing across 12 stages.
We are fully booked this weekend but our lovely sister site might just be able to squeeze you in for a last minute break. Be quick though, or you might miss out. Enjoy a peaceful break, just a short hop from all the action.

Fresh from the main stage at Rock Oyster Festival, this Wednesday we welcome Sean Lloyd to the Sandcastle for another relaxed evening of great drinks, pizza and music.
Pre-book your pizza at Reception, grab a drink form the bar and kick back with some chilled out summer sounds. Lloyd is a multi-instrumentalist specialising in saxophone and has played all over the world with bands, theatre productions and cruise lines.

Jamie Crowe, formerly of Rootjoose, playing stomp box guitar blues covering the likes of Robert Johnson, Seasick Steve and The White Stripes.
Flo Crowe, of Flo Crowe & the Dilemmas, playing piano pop covering the likes of Amy Winehouse, Elton John and Lilly Allen.
