An Update Regarding Rostrevor Valley House

Over the past while, many people have been asking why Rostrevor Valley House has not been operating.

Unfortunately, due to an ongoing legal dispute, we have been unable to operate the property. As the matter is currently going through litigation , we are limited in what we can say publicly. Out of respect for the legal process, we will not be naming anyone or discussing the details at this time.

We would also like to clear up an important point of confusion. Rostrevor Valley House is completely separate from the campsite. The campsite is under different ownership and management and has no involvement in this legal matter. We kindly ask that people do not confuse the two.

When the legal process allows, we intend to share our side of the story and the facts surrounding what has happened.

In the meantime, we respectfully ask that any discussion remains factual and respectful. Any comments containing false or defamatory statements may be retained, including screenshots, should they be required in connection with the ongoing legal proceedings.

If you are a guest with a booking, have previously stayed with us, or have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly at [email protected]. We’ll do our best to respond as quickly as possible.

🏕️ ROSTREVOR VALLEY CAMPING – SOFT OPENING THIS WEEKEND 🏕️

Right folks, we’re opening a limited number of pitches this weekend as part of our soft opening.

We’re keeping numbers low to start with and seeing how things go, so there’ll only be 15 pitches available:

⛺ 5 Large Pitches (8m x 8m)
⛺ 10 Standard Pitches (up to 6m x 6m)

At the minute we’ve got:

🚿 Showers
🚻 Toilets
💧 Fresh water
👮 Overnight security

We’re also working away on a BBQ area which will be ready soon.

🚗 Free lifts to and from Rostrevor village and local mountain trails
Perfect if you fancy leaving the car parked up and getting out for a walk in the Mournes.

No need to pay anything upfront. Just send us a message on Facebook and pay when you arrive.

If you’re booking, let us know:

This isn’t a party campsite. We’re a family-run place and we’re aiming for a relaxed atmosphere where people can enjoy the scenery, get out into the mountains, and switch off for a few days.

We have also been contacted by Claire Dickson from the Belfast Telegraph, seeking “our side of the story” following complaints raised by a guest. Coincidentally, this guest resides in the same Banbridge area as the individual who has been most active in posting negative comments about our business online.

When I asked for her credentials, she stated only that she was a journalist. Screenshots of this correspondence will be included for transparency and, as some would say, in the interests of free speech.

What I find remarkable is that so much attention is being focused on the experiences of fewer than three guest bookings, while thousands of guests have stayed with us over the years and enjoyed their time at Rostrevor Valley Resort. We have received thousands of positive reviews across multiple platforms and have worked tirelessly to build and improve our business.

Despite this, we continue to face intense scrutiny over a very small number of complaints. We remain committed to defending our reputation, presenting the facts, and continuing to provide great experiences for our guests. Im the meantime we our taking bookings on 51 sites on line as usual 🙌

A Message To Our Past Guests ❤️

Over the years, thousands of guests have stayed at Rostrevor Valley Resort. We’ve been fortunate to receive thousands of positive reviews across Airbnb and Booking.com, and we’re incredibly grateful for every guest who has chosen to stay with us.

As a small family-run business, we’ve poured our heart and soul into creating a place where couples, families, friends and groups can relax, celebrate and make lasting memories. Many of our guests have met us personally, and those relationships and experiences are what have made this journey so rewarding.

Like any business, we’ve had challenges along the way, and recently a small number of bookings resulted in a disproportionate number of negative reviews online. While we respect everyone’s right to share their experience, we know these reviews do not reflect the experience of the vast majority of guests who have stayed with us over the years.

We want to reassure everyone that Rostrevor Valley Resort isn’t going anywhere. In fact, we’re continuing to invest in the resort, improve our facilities, refine our policies and make the guest experience even better than before. We’ve also removed our non-refundable booking option and introduced clearer policies to help ensure a positive experience for both guests and our team.

If you’ve stayed with us and enjoyed your visit, we’d be incredibly grateful if you could take a couple of minutes to leave an honest review on Google or TripAdvisor. Whether you stayed last month or several years ago, your feedback helps future guests see the full picture and supports a local independent tourism business.

We’re also excited to share more details about our upcoming campsite development very soon. As well as welcoming touring caravans and motorhomes to pitch up and enjoy everything the Mournes have to offer, we’ll also have fully equipped holiday caravans available for guests who love the caravan experience without needing to bring their own.

Over the past few years we’ve welcomed thousands of guests to Rostrevor Valley Resort, creating amazing memories and receiving incredible support from visitors from near and far ❤️

We are aware of the recent posts regarding a guest booking experience at Rostrevor Valley House. We are currently in contact with the guests involved and are working through the matter privately and respectfully together.

Unfortunately, a situation arose that none of us had hoped for due to unexpected maintenance and property issues affecting a small number of recent bookings. In total, 3 bookings were affected over the past two months. While there may appear to be many posts online, these relate to large family groups. The guests involved are good people, and we are working to make things right through refunds and compensation.

Like any hospitality business, unexpected issues can occasionally arise, particularly during busy periods. As a busy hospitality business operating across multiple booking platforms, occasional technical and scheduling complications can also unfortunately arise. While situations like this are rare, we always aim to deal with them honestly, fairly and responsibly, with guest safety and experience remaining our priority at all times.

Over the coming weeks we will also be carrying out maintenance and improvements across parts of Rostrevor Valley House while continuing to welcome guests.

We are also excited to officially open our campsite from next week 🏕️

Although some final work is still ongoing in certain areas, we wanted to give campers, hikers and groups the opportunity to enjoy Rostrevor, the Mourne Mountains and the stunning views over Carlingford Lough this season.

To allow newly seeded grass areas to establish properly, we will simply be limiting tent numbers until summer.

Whether you’re planning a hiking trip, group getaway, camping weekend or simply looking to switch off for a few days, we can’t wait to welcome you.

We also remain fully committed to providing the best possible service moving forward, with a new team onboard and lots of exciting plans ahead for the resort.

Looking for a mechanic / recovery locally 👨‍🔧🚗

We’ve got 2 cars in Warrenpoint that need sorted:

• Audi – brake calliper issue
• Passat – injector seals needing done

Both cars will need to be towed to a garage.

Our usual mechanic isn’t available anymore so looking for someone reliable who can either recover them or point us in the right direction.

Based Rostrevor / Warrenpoint area.
