Great news for Newry!!!

🏃🏼‍♀️History made in Tokyo as Newry’s Kate O’Connor has won silver at the World Athletics Championships!

Ireland’s first ever global outdoor medal in the multi-events.

Behind this moment is years of dedication and hard work, and Kate’s achievement will undoubtedly help inspire our next generation of athletes.

Maith thú Kate, enjoy every moment of the celebrations. You’ve done everyone back home in Newry and across Ireland incredibly proud! 👏🏻

***NEWS****

Larkin’s Bar and Brasserie is now CLOSED as we begin refurbishment works to bring The Clanrye Hotel to Newry.

We will be offering 20 upscale bedrooms, cafe, residents lounge and our main bar once again when works are completed and look forward to welcoming you all back in the very near future.

In the meantime we will post progress photos as we go - so keep following and let us know what you think.

We will also be lodging a planning application with Newry Council to add a further 24 bedrooms, gym, spa and other facilities over the coming months and welcome your support in pushing that through as we aim to bring new accomodation and visitors to Newry City.

This is a major new investment in the future of Newry City and we look forward to seeing you all in Spring 2026 when we launch!!!!!!!
