October arrives in burnished reds and golds. This is Dartmoor at its most beautiful.

Join our Estate Manager for a guided walk through the grounds as the season transforms the landscape. Listen to the leaves, watch the light change, breathe in the crisp air. This is where to be in autumn.

Choose your spot beneath the dappled trees, beside the river, or with Dartmoor stretching out in front of you. Settle into a prepared picnic (or upgrade to afternoon tea or a luxury hamper). Afterwards, a light-hearted round on our 18-hole putting course, where the pace is unhurried and the surroundings do most of the talking.

Walk Dartmoor with Pete Rich, National Park Ranger, on a memorable day that celebrates the National Park's 75th anniversary. Beginning in the grounds of Gidleigh Park, the route takes you across spectacular moorland landscape, passing through the Watergarden, Kestor and Scorhill before returning to the hotel.

After the walk, settle in to a sumptuous Afternoon Tea in elegant surroundings. Freshly baked scones, delicate pastries and carefully prepared savouries, all while the moor air is still in your hair and the views stretch beyond the gardens.

Christmas at Gidleigh Park.

Christmas Eve arrives with the Okehampton Silver Band, a wine tasting, champagne reception, and black-tie tasting menu. This is how the season begins.

Christmas morning unfolds at your own pace with a leisurely breakfast. Then gather for our traditional Christmas lunch, a feast that steals the show, followed by a relaxed buffet as evening falls.

Boxing Day brings celebratory Bloody Marys and Buck's Fizz at breakfast, afternoon tea, and an à la carte dinner. On the 27th, a final breakfast before you depart with the memories wrapped around you.

Cream tea and mulled wine on arrival, seven-course Christmas lunch with wine flight, a gift from Gidleigh Park, and every meal in between.
