The hotel has been owned and run by the Hassell Family since 1998. Fourth generation, Devon hoteliers with a keen eye for detail and with staff who know how to make you feel at home. This Sunday, some of our team will be swapping their usual surroundings for 15km of Dartmoor! 🥾

We're taking part in Hospitality Action's Walk for Wellbeing, walking from Bovey Castle to Ilsington Country House Hotel & Spa alongside others from the hospitality industry.

It's all in support of a cause close to our hearts: looking after the mental health and wellbeing of the people who work in hospitality, and reminding each other how important it is to look out for one another.

We're looking forward to getting out on the moor together, and hopefully raising plenty for a wonderful cause along the way!

Autumn evenings were made for the warmth of the spa 🍂

We have some rather lovely news from the Food Drink Devon Awards! 🏆

Our Restaurant has been awarded Gold in the Hotel Restaurant category for 2026/27, and we couldn't be more pleased!

George, our Trainee Manager, Liv, our Restaurant Supervisor, and Richard, our Owner, were there to celebrate on the night and bring home the award.

The recognition means a great deal to us, particularly with the awards celebrating quality, sustainability and provenance, all things that are so important to the way we approach food here at Ilsington.

And we couldn't resist sharing one lovely comment from the judges, who described our desserts as “the best we'd had this judging season”. Our kitchen team were very pleased with that!

A wonderful achievement for everyone involved, from the chefs creating each dish to the team looking after our guests in the Restaurant. We're incredibly proud of them all!

As the days get cooler, a little warmth goes a long way.

October’s Treatment of the Month is our Bamboo Massage, using heated bamboo sticks to warm and relax the muscles, ease built-up tension and allow for a deeper massage without discomfort.

With 1 hour 45 minutes to properly unwind, it’s a lovely treatment for tired muscles after autumn walks or simply when you’re in need of some time to switch off.
