Helpful Holidays Visit www.helpfulholidays.co.uk for over 600 superb holiday cottages in Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset. An award-winning business founded 35 years ago.

We're based at the heart of the West Country, in Chagford within the Dartmoor National Park. We know the West Country and the holiday cottages we let very well and our excellent team of 40, who help arrange over 16,000 holidays a year, retains a 'small firm' ethos where customers come first. More than 60% of our bookings are from previous customers, their friends, relatives and work colleagues, and 99.6% of customers who responded to our questionnaires this year said they would recommend us to friends. Our job is simple - to do all we can to make sure you have happy holidays. We do so by being very honest and straightforward.

🌟 Five stars shine bright at the Sykes Gems

Huge congratulations to five of our Helpful Holidays properties on winning at the Sykes Gem Awards.

From romantic escapes to family havens, and everything in between - our properties celebrate what makes Devon special.

Whether it’s the gold-standard charm of Little Orchard, the timeless appeal of 1 The Quay, or the family-perfect Hornshayne Farmhouse, each winner embodies the care and quality our owners bring to their cottages. Alongside these two, Beckaford View was recognised for being a retreat for couples, and 1 The Quay for being one of our best longstanding properties, as well as Searles for being one of the top three in the 'Best in Devon' category.

🏡 Little Orchard, Best in Devon | Gold
🏡 Hornshayne Farmhouse, Best for Young Families | Silver
🏡 Beckaford View, Best for Couples | Bronze
🏡 Searles, Best in Devon | Bronze
🏡 1 The Quay, Best Longstanding Property | Bronze

These awards mean everything to us and to the guests who choose to holiday with us. Massive thanks to everyone who makes these properties shine — owners, team, and guests alike.

Here’s to more magical moments in Devon and the South West. ✨
