Been a while since the last posting... we have potatoes, onions and tomatoes growing well but the puppy thinks gardening is playtime and veg beds are for digging in (we are strictly no-dig!). The wet start to the year didn't help. But the garden is looking lovely...

Still a slow start to the year as neither the garden or I are fully puppy proofed... but the nice weather is helping!

Slow progress, but things look OK from this seat. 1st and 2nd early potaties in. Asparagus crowns (maybe dead!) in. Purple sprouting cropping. Globe artichoke survived winter and a puppy onslaught. Greenhouse has coriander, parsley, spring onikns, broad beans and peaa in it already, plus a creature family pupating!

This little thing, and it's friends, is the first successful overwintering I've ever achieved. If these humble plants can struggle through the endless rain of winter 25/26 then so can I! Seeds and tatties going in this week 😘

It's Tattie Day! Even though the tattie beds are more like rice paddies at present (thank goodness for chitting time...)...

40mm of rain/sleet overnight and still falling! Could be worse... the garden drains well, the road drain is coping, the camber is keeping the river on the other side of the road away from the front gate. No standing water around the foundations of the house and only our regular chimney leak dripping in the kitchen
