Over the course of two years, we have fully renovated the proper

With its prime location on the shores of Luce Bay and the large windows on the first floor, our cottage offers stunning views of the sea, the beach, and the surrounding landscape. The area is renowned for its unspoiled natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to relax and unwind. Whether you enjoy coastal walks with breath-taking sea views, strolling along woodland paths in nearby Galloway Forest Park, or taking on a challenge with a cliff-top hike along the Mull of Galloway, there are plenty of walking trails to explore. For those seeking places of interest to visit during their stay, the historic town of Whithorn, the Isle of Whithorn, and the picturesque village of Garlieston are all just a short drive away. You can also venture to Wigtown, Scotland's National Book Town, which is only a 20-minute drive from Port William. If you're looking for a day out, we recommend a visit to the nearby distilleries Bladnoch and Crafty, both of which offer tours and tastings. Alternatively, you can explore the stunning Glenwhan Gardens, enjoying the tranquil setting and a café lunch. Don’t forget there will be no Fish Friday on the 29th due to an event being held at the golf club that day.

Oh my goodness. What an incredible response to our programme announcement.

Tickets for Sam Heughan: Spirit of Galloway have now sold out. No great surprise mind you, Galloway folk have always turned out to support their own.

It’s not just Sam’s event that’s flying; we’re seeing record ticket sales across the full programme. We are incredibly grateful and the whole team is working hard to make sure this is the best Stranraer Oyster Festival yet.

Due to the high demand, we’re going to take a bit of time to review the festival site plan to see if we can add any extra capacity. In the meantime, a waiting list automatically opens for any sold-out event, so if tickets become available, those on the list will get an email straight away.

If you've been meaning to book for anything else in the programme, we'd encourage you not to wait too long, especially for events involving Matt Tebbutt. And if you need overnight accommodation in or near Stranraer, again we’d urge you to book soon.
