www.westviewcottage-portwilliam.co.uk Port William has been a family holiday destination for the "Websters" for over four decades, and we recently made the decision to buy a property to ensure that we can continue to visit this idyllic location as often as possible. Over the course of two years, we have fully renovated the property back to bare stone and rebuilt it with the intention of creating a high-quality, cosy, peaceful retreat for holidaymakers to enjoy the area and for our family to return to year-round. With its prime location on the shores of Luce Bay and the large windows on the first floor, our cottage offers stunning views of the sea, the beach, and the surrounding landscape. The area is renowned for its unspoiled natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to relax and unwind. Whether you enjoy coastal walks with breath-taking sea views, strolling along woodland paths in nearby Galloway Forest Park, or taking on a challenge with a cliff-top hike along the Mull of Galloway, there are plenty of walking trails to explore. For those seeking places of interest to visit during their stay, the historic town of Whithorn, the Isle of Whithorn, and the picturesque village of Garlieston are all just a short drive away. You can also venture to Wigtown, Scotland's National Book Town, which is only a 20-minute drive from Port William. If you're looking for a day out, we recommend a visit to the nearby distilleries Bladnoch and Crafty, both of which offer tours and tastings. Alternatively, you can explore the stunning Glenwhan Gardens, enjoying the tranquil setting and a café lunch. Westview Cottage is right on the seafront in Port William, and we’d love to welcome you. 3 bedrooms, sleeps 6, with premium comfy beds and quiet walks along the beach right on your doorstep. Sorry, no pets.

30 minutes from Stranraer/Cairnryan - 30 minutes from Newton Stewart in Dumfries & Galloway. The South West corner of Scotland. A small quiet fishing village (we love watching the lobster fisherman bringing in his catch – the skipper is also family!!)

🎉 WE HAVE OUR BUILDING WARRANT! 🎉

We submitted it on the 12th of June, and today it's been officially approved. We are absolutely buzzing!

We have to say a HUGE Thank you to Mark Buchanan at McGowan Miller. Every time a query came in, Mark turned it around quickly and kept things moving. We honestly couldn't have got here without him. Thank you, Mark! 🙌

Also thanks to Finlay Carson For Galloway And West Dumfries and his team for stepping in and pushing the paperwork on.

So what happens now? We're hoping to get started on the build in the next few weeks. We'll be honest with you, there is a LOT to do, and it's going to be at least a 6-month build. But this is the moment the real work starts, and we'll be sharing every step with you along the way.

Dean and I are up in the Port next week, we will be meeting trades at the building to discuss what needs doing! If you are passing, do pop in and say hello!

GUESS WHAT?? WE’RE BACK🚨
We are well rested, and ready to kick off the rest of the year with a busy week.

Thursday at our usual spot in Gatehouse of Fleet, Friday takes us back to the Market in Castle Douglas and Saturday is a double service for us!

Two chances to grab some food from us in the West. We’ll be serving breakfast rolls from 10 until 12 on Saturday down at the Second Sands beach, along side our friends at MHÒR bringing you some delicious pours from 9am-2.30pm. From 12-2 we’ll be serving our normal menu, so a Bossman Breakfast and Lunch could be on the cards 👀

Then a quick drive down to Garlieston to serve 4pm-7:30pm, we sold out last time so get down nice and early for that one!🔥
