General Information
Balloch O Dee Campsite is set in stunning countryside on a small farm close to the Galloway National Forest park. The emphasis is on peace and tranquillity with some added interests and activities to make yo

ur stay hopefully a little more memorable. We have plenty of space for tents as well as electric hook-ups for touring caravans, Camper vans and motorhomes. We also have indoor accommodation available such as The Ranch House - which sleeps 6 people and has en-suite shower and toilet facilities. The Bothy which sleeps 5 people, The Roundhouse which sleeps 4 and Bluebell which sleeps 2 people. From this May (2021) we will also have a Yurt which will sleep 4/5. All our indoor accommodation is a little bit different and a little bit quirky. The site is complimented by lovely hot showers and clean candle lit toilets as well as a campers cookhouse, washing up facilities and communal shelters with fire-pits. We have a few rare-breed hens free ranging around the site plus our Shetland ponies may share your campfire on occasion! We love our campfires at Balloch O Dee and you are welcome to have a campfire whenever you like. There are plenty of fire-pits dotted all over the site and plenty of sustainable hardwood available on site at all times and outdoor cooking is positively encouraged with many cooking stations and grills available free for you to use. We sometimes run Bush craft and wild food foraging sessions for all ages throughout the summer months and hold an annual music weekend every year at the end of September and we are always on the look out for interesting groups and activities to enhance your stay.

We have manages to stay quite dry and warm this bank holiday , just a few heavy showers at night .Our campers brought a wonderful relaxed atmosphere .

The sky was beautiful this morning for those who were up with the birds .

This year a camper reccomended I grow Borage . I have grown pots of it from seed . It's doing well and hopefully next year I can get it growing wild around the campsite. Aparantly it refills with sugary nectar every 2 minutes . Great for the bees.
