After the brilliant Wigtown Shindy, we're keeping the music going at The Wigtown Ploughman this week, with a fantastic group of musicians joining us for our Trad Night on Wednesday from 7pm.

Then on Friday at 3pm, settle in for a gentler afternoon session with Jim Bainbridge and friends.

Live music is very much alive in Wigtown… but we reckon there's still something missing. If Nova Scotia can have a giant fiddle, surely Wigtown needs one too?

Plenty to do this weekend in Wigtown! Loads of great live music at the Wigtown Shindy which is a free marquee event in the Wigtown Gardens. Please do come along and join in the fun. If you're feeling peckish and need some energy for dancing then we're serving till 8pm tonight, all day tomorrow, and then more delicious roasts till 4pm on Sunday.

Massive congratulations and thanks to the team of volunteers who help run the Shindy in it's now 6th year! Bottoms up!

It would totally be worth it if you braved the weather to experience the Ploughman Roast. Beef, Gammon, Chicken, or Veg options - all £15.

Massive thank you to everyone in Wigtown for trying to eat us out of house and home the past couple of days, we have ran out of a couple of things but still have a delicious menu for you. Serving till 4pm today! Thanks for your continued support, and we hope you keep enjoying the food and drink 🥰

📢 A few things happening at The Wigtown Ploughman this week!

🌾 Wednesday – Wigtown Agricultural Show
We'll be closed for lunches but the bar will be open. We'll be open for food at night. So, if you've had a busy day at the show, why not call in for a bite to eat, a pint, or both? We'd love to see you.

☕ Thursday
We'll be closed until around 3:00pm while we host a private funeral tea for a local family. Thank you for your understanding as we support them at this difficult time. We'll reopen from around 3:00pm and continue with our normal service.

🎹 Friday night is our monthly open music night with the ever talented Bre Martin.
If you fancy bringing an instrument to play, your voice to sing or your ears just to listen and soak up the atmosphere, there should be a chair for you to relax in!

🎸 Saturday Night – Live Music
We're delighted to have Dave Against the Machine playing live in the bar. Expect a brilliant atmosphere, great music, good food and your favourite drinks. Bring your friends and make a night of it!

Apart from the changes above, it's business as usual, with lunches and evening meals available throughout the rest of the week.
