Blondie our resident red squirrel lives on! Our little secretive friend keeps herself to herself but does like the left over bread in the bird box as a pre Autumn snack. Have you seen her? If not you could always visit and log a sighting from our beautiful little place in the Strath!

What a great and very full day Highland Games event Newtonmore put on yesterday. Thanks to Newtonmore Highland Games for organising it. A really enjoyable day full of people enjoying the spectacle of heavies events, piping bands, running races, dancing competitions and the famous hill race.

Two weeks until the Newtonmore Highland Games ! We can't wait. Always a great day out with so much to see on the track and field, the famous hill race, bagpiping and dancing competitions, parades plus lots of stalls and food to try. Watch a shinty match and enter into a race. But bring a rug to sit on and enjoy!

Relax in our recently restored Restaurant Car with a refreshing glass of Pimm’s and a bowl of fresh, hand-picked strawberries topped with fresh cream. Setting off from Platform 3 at Aviemore station, through to Boat of Garten and on to Broomhill, the railway takes you on a twenty-mile round trip along part of the original Highland Railway mainline. As the train passes moorland, through woods and alongside the meandering River Spey, stunning Cairngorm Mountains scenery is ever-present.
