⭐️⭐️⭐️ Three stays. Three glowing 5-star reviews. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Manor Croft in Ludham may be one of the newest additions to our collection, but it’s already proving rather popular with guests.
Dating back to the early 1800s, this gorgeous three-bedroom cottage has had quite the life – once forming part of a vicarage, later becoming the village pub, The Spread Eagle, and then a Temperance Hotel.

Beautifully renovated in 2024, today it blends all that wonderful history with stylish, comfortable interiors, while retaining plenty of its original character – exposed beams, high ceilings, wooden shutters, polished floorboards and a fabulous inglenook fireplace.

And the location is pretty hard to beat. You’re right in the heart of Ludham, with the village pub, café, butcher and shop all within walking distance, the Norfolk Broads on the doorstep and some of Norfolk’s best beaches around 20 minutes away. It sleeps up to 6, welcomes 2 dogs and is available for short breaks throughout the year.

Thursday
6.30am – Respond to emails and messages.
9am – Iron sheets to deliver to a property
10.30am – Shop for hamper goodies
11am – Drive to Winterton to deliver cleaning products and hampers, and carry out a spot check.
12pm – Drive to Happisburgh to deliver laundry and hampers.
1.30pm – Lunch in the car while catching up on messages and calls.
2pm – Collect clean laundry to deliver to another property.
3pm – Check emails and respond to messages.
3.30pm – Drive back towards office, pulling over to sort last-minute booking in lay-by
4pm – Tesco for last-minute supplies for the next day’s changeover.
5pm – Back at the office to answer emails, create and promote a last-minute offer, sign off a press release, pay invoices and call a few owners.
6pm – Finish for the day.

Friday
8.30am – Head to our new shop to measure up
9.30am – Back home to collect laundry.
10am – Head to Ludham with my Daughter to complete a changeover (every member of our housekeeping team is stacked out with other properties)
12.30pm – Drop dirty laundry at our launderers.
1pm – Back to the desk to tackle emails and process a last-minute booking arriving at 4pm – made considerably easier by our booking system being down all day…
3pm – Process payments, speak to guests checking in and coordinate cleans for the weekend.
4pm – Offline. Done. Shattered.

The last property we have available this weekend is a beautifully converted hayloft, tucked away in peaceful Dilham, right in the heart of the Norfolk Broads. This isn’t just a pretty holiday cottage - it’s a personality-packed retreat built for memory-making, for two couples, a family of four (plus one good-behaved dog), or anyone craving that blend of cozy comfort and countryside charm

Set within the grounds of an elegant country house, this former hayloft boasts whitewashed walls, exposed beams, and skylines that steal your breath. The ground-floor kitchen is bright and airy with an electric range cooker, dishwasher, washing machine - then head upstairs to sink into comfortable sofas, bask by the wood burner, or binge your favourite show on the Smart TV with Sky. Perfect for unwinding after a day exploring the Broads or Norfolk coast

There are two generous bedrooms: one king‑size and one double, each with statement furnishings, a bathtub with handheld shower in the bathroom, a sun-trap courtyard with comfy seating, plus a separate BBQ area in a gravelled courtyard.

A huge thank you to the team for making me feel so special. Have you been? If not, you absolutely should. It’s a firm favourite of ours and such a gorgeous spot overlooking the marshes, with one of the best views on the North Norfolk coast. 🦀

Self catering with a luxury twist. The owner of Manor Croft has considered just about everything a guest might need:

• A voucher for the lovely village bistro
• A welcome basket filled with local produce
• A handwritten note from the owner
• A pack of cleaning essentials
• A basket of useful bits you may have forgotten
• A fully stocked pantry with herbs, spices, flour, sugar and other cooking basics

Well, this is rather exciting… East Coast Hideaways is getting a new home.

From the beginning of October, you’ll find us in our very own office on a very lovely high street in North Norfolk.

When I started East Coast Hideaways in 2021, I wanted to create a small, independent holiday letting company that did things a little differently - curating a collection of properties we’d happily stay in ourselves. Alongside that, we offer a managed service, looking after the day-to-day running of homes for owners who aren’t always nearby.

Our love of property also led to us creating EC Property Co., an arm of the business born out of a growing number of owners asking us to help with more than just letting their homes. From interiors and property styling to full refurbishments and project management, we help busy owners turn ideas into beautiful, finished homes.

Our new office will bring all sides of the business together under one roof, and we’re rather excited to see what comes next. More soon.
