The area around Blofield offers quiet country lanes for walking and cycling. There are plenty of traditional country pubs with restaurants within convenient driving distance. Salhouse, Brundall and South Walsham Broads are nearby where you can launch or hire a boat, with the RSPB reserve at Strumpshaw Farm provinding a delight for walkers and nature lovers. The historic cathedral city of Norwich with it's cobbled streets, timber-framed houses, bustling outdoor market, theatres and shops is a short drive and provides further interest and entertainment.

It’s so easy to forget what’s right on our doorstep…

We’re incredibly lucky to have the beautiful Norfolk Broads — miles of waterways, pretty villages, wildlife and some of the best views in Norfolk.

And the best way to explore them? By boat, of course! 🚤

Heading out from Wroxham? Cruise down to Salhouse Broad, moor up and take a stroll into the village for lunch or a drink thestagsalhouse. Salhouse Broad has visitor moorings with access into the village, so it makes a lovely stop along the way.

Hiring your boat from Brundall? Start the day with breakfast East Hills Bakery & Café before you set off, then head along the River Yare towards Thorpe St Andrew. Moor up nearby and wander over to Oaklands Hotel, Norwich for a drink on the terrace before heading back.

Sometimes the best days out really are the ones right on your doorstep.

Explore Norfolk. Eat local. Drink local.

'The property's location was ideal, offering a peaceful setting while being conveniently situated for exploring both Norwich and the Norfolk coast. The welcome pack prepared by Tanya was exceptional, without doubt the most comprehensive we have ever received. She was friendly and helpful throughout our stay, we really couldn't have asked for more. The property was exactly as shown in the photographs and the kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We would happily recommend it to anyone looking to visit the area.'

Tanya was very informative , calling us the week before our visit to explain check in etc. A generous welcome pack was awaiting us. Plenty of local information was in the cottage of where to visit and places to eat. The peace and view from the decking was amazing as was the buck moon in the big Norfolk sky. Watching hares, buzzards and heron was something we’d never tire of. Thank you Tanya for being so helpful and for a flexible checkout as no guests were coming on that day. We’d definitely recommend and plan to visit again.

'Just come back from a 5 day stay at Tanya cottage. What a beautiful cottage in a very secluded location. the cottage was immaculate. location ideal for the places we wanted to visit. we couldn't have asked for anymore from Tanya, she is a fantastic host. would definitely stay her again'
