To be offered in our upcoming sale on the 12 June is an unremarkable but historically significant German grand piano formerly belonging to Edward VIII, King of the United Kingdom, prior to his abdication in 1936.
This fine instrument, crafted by Carl Becke in the 1920s, was housed at Fort Belvedere, the royal residence most closely associated with Edward VIII during his tenure as Prince of Wales and King. The piano features a rosewood case and retains its original Harrods metal label.
Of particular note is the accompanying typed letter of provenance from Harrods, dated 1939, which attests to the piano’s distinguished ownership and sale history.
This is an exceptional opportunity to acquire an instrument of both musical and royal heritage. For more details see https://tinyurl.com/MKPianoJune
