The Beehive Guesthouse

The Beehive Guesthouse Family run Guest House in the beautiful Churnet Valley; Alton Towers, with the delights of Dimmingsdale and the southern Peak District on our doorstep.

In March 2018, Jo & Steve moved in to The Beehive Guest House to start a new chapter of our lives running a Bed and Breakfast and building on the success of the last 30+ years of The Beehive as a B&B. We set about updating the property which has turned in to a labour of love as we gradually refurbish every room restoring original features along the way to preserve the character of this lovely building. We hope our guests will enjoy the results of our hard work.

Hooray....its taken 8 years but we've finally finished all our internal renovations of The Beehive. The final stage over the last 5 months has been to renew and replaster the walls and ceilings, and strip 100+ years of paint off all the woodwork before we could redecorate the hall, stairs and landing. We're pleased with the end result and hope our guests like it too. It will be strange this winter not having to rip a room apart as every winter since we bought The Beehive in 2018 we've spent it knee deep in old plaster, rubble etc. I'm sure we'll find plenty to keep us occupied and it means we can stay open for guests. What a journey we've been on! We've uncovered all sorts, good and bad, including some lovely original features that we have restored including all 52 spindles, coving and the beautiful minton floor in our hall.
