General information
Rutland water, set in over 3000 acres of beautiful countryside is a hub for much of the local activity. The twenty-five mile track around the reservoir is ideal for cycling or strolling. Egleton is famous for its bird-watching centre (look out for the Ospreys), and of course people travel from all over the country to go fly fishing. Sailing and windsurfing are popular, and you can try rock climbing at Rockblok on the shore. The setting also includes one of the localities three golf courses.
