We have loved the campsite and particularly all the wonderful guests and ask that you continue to support Chris & Jo Read the new owners. Have fun at Greendale & fabulous Rutland.

Yesterday we exchanged contracts on Greendale so, later this week it is FAREWELL from Ian & Sue! After more than 16 years and developing Greendale from a simple campsite, with generated part time electricity and basic facilities to the lovely site it is today, will be very hard to leave. We have gained so many friends and happy memories from lots of fantastic customers. It is such a happy place.

The good news is that we are passing it over to fabulous new owners, Chris & Jo Read whom we know you will all love. (We couldn't sell to anyone you wouldn't like!) The other good news is that Barb & Gail, our fantastic wardens will also be staying on to look after you this year.

We recommend that you book in soon!

We won't be moving far away and will continue to play pétanque for the White Lion in the village from mid April to the end of August. That means 50% of Tuesday evenings we will be in the village and hope to see some of you there.

Thank you so much. We will miss the buzz and friendship. Have fun!

We've just had our oldest ever visitor stay in Greendale at almost 106 years old. Amazingly agile for this age too.

Rutland Water is such a great place to visit and only a few minutes from Greendale! Water sports, cycling, birdwatching, walking, trips across on the Rutland Belle, nature reserves & more can all be enjoyed here.

Rutland tops list of 50 rural areas with the highest standard of living in the UK

With its clement weather, good levels of health and low crime rate, Rutland offers the highest standard of living in rural Britain, according to a new report.
Nestled in the tranquil East Midlands countryside, Rutland is known for its unspoilt villages and charming market towns. But as well as a picturesque setting, the area tops the bill for a range of other factors, bringing it to the top of the annual Halifax Rural Areas Quality of Life Survey.
