Imagine waking up among the trees.

Peek your head out of your tent and see the trees, listen to the bird song and feel the dappled sunlight on your face. Take the time to sip a morning brew and know that right now you have nowhere else you need to be.

Woodsworth offers a chance to disconnect and unwind all in the saftey of our managed woodland.

Childhood memories are made outdoors

Here at Woodsworth we think play and time spent in nature is really important for children (and adults). Our campsite offers families the chance to slow down and spend time with each other in a safe and nearly wild environment.

Enjoy time building a fire, roasting marshmallows, finding our pink sticks, exploring and stargazing. Its a chance to disconnect for a while, and to share simple moments that last in memories long after the trip is finished.

On Saturday 20th June, we will be providing a fully funded SEND Forest School session for children who are neurodivergent, aged between 5-12 (formal diagnosis not required). This will take place in the beautiful woodland at Woodsworth Exploring in Oakworth between 10am-1pm.

This programme will be supported by a high ratio of trained adults who will adapt activities to meet the needs of the children attending. Parents are invited to stay for the session if they would like to, but it is not a requirement.

The woodland is starting to come to life, with wildflowers popping up across the forest floor

You’ll spot them along the trails and between the trees — one of the best times of year for a walk and a proper look around.

Sometimes the greener choice is staying closer to home.

Choosing a woodland staycation instead of long distance travel can help reduce your environmental impact while still giving you the chance to get away and enjoy a picturesque part of Yorkshire.

Come and see our woodland and enjoy a more eco-friendly way to escape.

The world beneath your feet

Woodland soil is a complex, breathing organism, transforming dead organic matter into plant nutrients, cycling carbon, and filtering water.

The soil is teeming with life supporting the growth of plants and trees, as well as maintaining the whole woodland ecosystem. Everything above ground depends on what’s happening below it.

Soil across the country is under pressure from intensive agricultural practices, including heavy use of fertilizers, pesticides, and excessive tillage, which degrade the soil structure and destroy beneficial microbiomes.

We create an environment in our woodland that helps support its natural ecology.

Today is World Bee Day 🐝

Around the campsite we leave small undisturbed areas to grow naturally and wild this gives bees quiet places to rest, shelter and search for flowers.

These wild spaces make a huge difference for pollinators and help keep our woodland ecology healthy

At Woodsworth Exploring we make a huge effort to be as eco friendly as possible and part of that is to ‘leave no trace’ within the woodland and to be mindful about waste.

We already have lots of ways to be as green as we can behind the scene, but one big one we share with our guests is our recycling initiative.

For this we give you a reusable recycling bag upon arrival, which we will happily recycle for you at the end of your stay.
