🍄 SEPTEMBER ADVENTURE CHALLENGE 🍂

September is here, so it’s time for a new adventure challenge! 🙌

This month I’ve mixed up the challenges a little, some are tiny things you can do on your everyday walks, some might take a bit more planning, and some are simply about getting outside and seeing where the day takes you.

You don’t have to do them in order.
You don’t have to do them all.
And there’s no time limit other than the end of September.

Just get outside, have some fun and see how many you can tick off! 🧡

☐ 🍄 Find a mushroom
☐ 🚌 Travel somewhere by bus or train
☐ 🌊 Walk beside a river, canal or other waterway
☐ 🍁 Find your first autumn leaf
☐ 🌅 Watch a sunrise
☐ 🌇 Watch a sunset
☐ ☕ Have a hot drink outdoors
☐ 🌧️ Go for a walk in the rain
☐ 🌙 Spot the moon
☐ ⭐ Spot the stars
☐ 🐦 Stop and notice a small bird
☐ 🌿 Find a wildflower still blooming
☐ 📸 Take a photo that makes you stop and look twice
☐ 🌰 Find a conker
☐ 🫐 Spot some berries or brambles
☐ 🥾 Walk somewhere you’ve never walked before
☐ 🏰 Visit a landmark (maybe a new one)
☐ 🪨 Find a heart shape in nature ♥️
☐ 🗑️ Pick up litter while you’re out
☐ 🧡 Take someone on an adventure
☐ 🪑 Sit outdoors for 10 minutes and simply enjoy where you are
☐ 🌉 Cross a bridge you’ve never crossed before (on foot)
☐ 🐾 Find animal tracks
☐ 🏖️ Walk along a beach
☐ 🌲 Walk through a woodland
☐ 🏞️ Visit a viewpoint
☐ 🎒 Have a picnic outdoors
☐ 🌬️ Find somewhere windy and embrace it 😂
☐ 📍 Find a trigpoint, bolt or interesting marker you’ve never visited before
☐ ✨ Have a completely unplanned adventure

And I LOVE the last one. ✨

Because sometimes the best adventures are the ones you didn’t plan.

No route.
No itinerary.
No idea where you’re going.

Just get outside and see what happens. 🧡

Ben Cruachan. 💚⛰️

My 7th time standing on the summit of this mountain today.

And without a doubt, it is still my absolute favourite.

Not just because of the views.
Not because it's an incredible mountain.
But because of what this mountain has taught me.

Strength.
Resilience.
And a belief in myself that I didn't always have.

Back in 2019, Ben Cruachan was my first ever solo Munro.

I remember what that meant to me then.

I was stepping into something that felt scary. Something I wasn't sure I was capable of doing on my own.

But I did it 🙌

And somewhere up there, I think I realised…

Maybe I'm capable of more than I give myself credit for.

That one Munro gave me confidence.

And that confidence grew.

It gave me the courage to try the next thing.

And then the next.

And before I knew it, one solo Munro had turned into hundreds of adventures, hundreds of hills, trigpoints, islands, challenges, and experiences I probably wouldn't have believed possible back then.

I've stood on this summit seven times now.

But every time I come back, I think about that first time.

The mountain hasn't changed.

But I have.

And maybe that's why it will always be my favourite. 🤍

Some places become special because of what they look like.

Others become special because of who you became there.

Ben Cruachan will always be the latter for me. ⛰️💚
