WHY BOOK DIRECT?
Airbnb, VRBO, Booking, Cottages, Sykes charge guests between 15 - 25% of your hard earned money - it matters not how they term it, it is the guests who pay that money. That is Hundreds of ££€€$$ for each stay that neither guests or hosts can spend locally.
With all the media interest in Airbnb (and our councils recent direct attacks on the self catering sector) it is maybe a good time to remind us all why Booking Direct with your holiday home host is such a good idea.
I want my guests to be able to spend as much time and money locally as possible (2 days is never enough 😉💚🌞) - our visitors are one of our most valued assets in keeping our micro food, creative arts, heritage, experiences businesses and events alive. Without our amazing visitors our own lives locally would be much depleted in opportunities to enjoy.
Local self catering hosts support our local trades people. We maintain our properties to a much higher standard than domestic homes, with more frequent upgrades.
Hotel profits leave the area, platform fees leave the country. Corporations benefit, not locals.
