It is a sad day, Julie and Angus, the loved faces behind The Barn Bar, are officially finishing up. I was going to share Julie’s lovely post but I feel like they deserve a mention that is completely dedicated to them ✨

This wonderful couple came into our lives 5 years ago as we handed the keys to The Barn Bar over to them. This was a big step for us and them but we were all so excited to see how it would play out.

5 years later and they have put their hearts and souls into the business and I think you can all agree with me what a success they made of it. Fantastic food, beyond amazing service, friendly atmosphere and just a sense of being part of the family when you walked through the door. Julie and Angus have now made the glen their home and are a huge part of the community here.

Their time at The Barn has come to an abrupt and unexpected end but their time as part of this close-knit community is as strong as ever. We are so sad to see them both go but we know whatever life throws at them next they will grab it with both hands and make the most of it.
Thank you for everything you have done for us at Cologin and for making The Barn Bar a loved place for guests and locals alike. It has been an absolute pleasure 🙏

We think your dog deserves a wee peaceful getaway 🐶 with that in mind we are so pleased to announce we do not do a any fireworks over the 5th of November as there has to be a calm space for dogs to escape to. 🎇🙅‍♀️

One of those reviews that just brings a huge smile to my face as they just get it.
We are not luxury, it’s not something we claim to be or want to be. We are purely simple comforts and calmness. You can bring the kids, the dogs and just relax, we don’t mind a broken glass of juice or the muddy foot prints 🐾
But don’t keep us too much of a secret though, still have a business to run 😂😂

And just like that I have a 1yr old 🤯

I feel like this past year I have been spinning a lot of plates, non particularly as well as I want to.
This summer has been the biggest challenge yet (new borns are a breeze compared to this stage 😅) but with the help of my amazing team and family I am getting through it.

One of my lovely customers said to me right at the start of becoming a mum that being self employed and a new mum is hard work but in the long run you will cherish the flexibility and I am starting to see that now. I’m still not 100% convinced I’ve got the balance right (does anyone!?) but i am so grateful I get to do what I do while also being a mum to little Ollie 🥰 Happy birthday little buddy. Let’s see what next year brings.
