It’s the most incredible day here on . Blue skies and beautiful sunshine. It’s the very best time of year for garden flowers. There’s always a bunch freshly cut in the hut! Amazingly we have no guests until the 5th so if anyone knows anyone who really could do with a few nights last minute holiwol in our glorious wee hut then be sure and send them our way!

Look at these wee babies!! A wren has made her cosy little nest in an old lantern hanging on the wall in our garden shed - how gorgeous is this?! It’s like a scene from an old fashioned children’s picture book and has made me feel very nostalgic. My granny (Naini we called her as she was Welsh) had a magical shed in her garden when I was a little girl. Full of marvellous oddities, the key was kept on a piece of string attached to a bunch of wooden cotton reels. I can still remember that smell of creosote and the feeling of excitement, rummaging around in that shed on a hot Summer’s day - there were treasures to be found!

These double header roses don’t just look beautiful, they smell insanely good!! Only downside is they don’t last long.
Guests coming today for the first time in a while - it’s been a VERY quiet year here at the - lots of availability still during the Summer months so be sure and book yourself in before the rush starts!

I’ve got again this year, and apparently we are a ‘Guest Favourite’!! Things are fairly quiet at the moment so please do share us with anyone you think might be looking for a few days away on beautiful Dartmoor. The weather is starting to improve, Spring is definitely in the air!

It’s a bit drizzly here today on Dartmoor but the garden flowers look beautiful in the hut waiting for a guest to drive up from Cornwall.
It’s been fairly quiet this year compared to the back to back bookings of last year. Lots of availability in Sept/Oct if anyone wanting a lovely late Summer early Autumn break on glorious Dartmoor

Oooh! Think that might be the coldest swim of the year so far. I had to prise my swimmers off the rock as they froze to it while I was getting changed!8.30am this morning. The sun coming up over the hill at Blackrock - so beautiful.
