This afternoon, Monday 1st June, Richard Heyes will be giving a talk at Lydgate Parish Hall on **The Menai Strait: 200 years of bridges, people and place**.
He’ll be sharing the story of the Menai crossing, from Thomas Telford’s original engineering vision to the modern challenges of maintaining and improving such an important transport link between mainland Wales and Anglesey.
The weather isn’t looking great, so it could be the perfect excuse to stay dry, have a cup of tea and cake, and hear a bit about one of Britain’s most iconic bridges.
Everyone who attends will also have the chance to **win a Welsh-themed hamper**.
Full details are on the poster — it would be lovely to see you there, and please do share with anyone who might be interested.
