Baronscourt Estate has emerged as a champion for the brown long-eared bat during the 2025 All-Ireland Woodland Bat Monitoring Scheme, recording the highest number of audio files for the species across the project! 🌳✨

Researchers monitored 40 woodland sites across Ireland, capturing 40,000+ bat recordings, with Whiskered bats found at 82.5% of sites and Natterer’s bats at 70%.

Baronscourt also recorded Whiskered and Daubenton’s bats, highlighting the importance of mature trees and mixed woodland habitats in protecting Ireland’s wildlife. 🌲🦇

A huge thank you to everyone who joined this year’s NSPCC Omagh District Bluebell Walk and helped make it such a wonderful success. 🌿💙

We were delighted to welcome around 560 registered walkers, who came together to enjoy a truly special day on the Estate. The feedback was lovely, with many commenting on the incredible display of bluebells and rhododendrons, both in their quantity and beauty.

Thanks to your generosity and support, the event has already raised over £5,300 for the NSPCC, with a few late donations still to come.

Our sincere thanks go to all those who took part, donated so generously, and helped support this important cause. A special thank you also to the amazing volunteers whose hard work and enthusiasm made the day possible.

A great day of learning, discussion, and field engagement at our annual visit for the Society of Irish Foresters.

Members gathered for a series of informative presentations and on-site forest visits, sharing insights on forest management, sustainability, and the future of Irish forestry. The day provided an excellent opportunity for professionals, landowners, and stakeholders to exchange knowledge and experiences while seeing forestry operations and management approaches in the field.

Thank you to all of our speakers, organisers, and attendees who contributed to such a successful and engaging event. It was encouraging to see such strong participation and enthusiasm across the sector.

We look forward to continuing these important conversations and collaborations throughout the year. 🌲🇮🇪
