🚆 Celebrating 150 years of the Settle to Carlisle line with £1.50 tickets!

One of Europe’s most scenic railway journeys is marking a huge milestone this year and we’re celebrating by releasing thousands of £1.50 tickets on the iconic Settle to Carlisle line.

Nearly 1 million journeys were made on the route last year, with passengers travelling between Leeds, Settle and Carlisle to enjoy breathtaking views across the Pennines, the Yorkshire Dales and Cumbria’s Eden Valley.

Along the way you’ll pass landmarks like the spectacular Ribblehead Viaduct, a 24 arch structure stretching a quarter of a mile across the valley.

This year marks 150 years since the line was completed, and communities along the route are planning a packed programme of celebrations including a special steam charter between Carlisle and York in May.

Whether you’re visiting for the scenery, exploring the Dales or rediscovering a historic route, there’s never been a better time to hop on board.
