Meet Luke, our new General Manager here at Chevin Country Park Hotel & Spa
Just a couple of weeks into the role, we caught up with him:
What attracted you to the role at Chevin?
The opportunity to be part of something special. Chevin is a unique country retreat, set within beautiful woodland, with its own character and a fantastic opportunity to create memorable experiences for guests. It felt like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help shape the next chapter of such a special hotel.
Background in the industry?
Iāve worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years, across hotels, restaurants, marketing, and events. Throughout my career, Iāve always loved the variety that hospitality brings, but most importantly, I enjoy working with people, creating great experiences, and finding opportunities to grow and develop a business.
What excites you most about the role?
Chevin has so much potential, and Iām excited about helping to build on what is already a fantastic team and creating new opportunities for growth. There are some exciting plans, including bringing the hotelās original bar back to life, which I think will add another wonderful dimension to the guest experience.
Ambitions for the hotel?
To grow sales while continuing to build and develop a great team. There is already such a strong foundation at Chevin, and I want to help build on that, bringing new ideas and experiences to the hotel while maintaining everything that makes it so special. Ultimately, Iād love Chevin to continue to grow as a destination that people want to visit, return to and recommend.
How do you like to spend your down time?
Living and working in such a beautiful part of the world, Iām very lucky to have the perfect surroundings to switch off. I love spending time walking through the woodlands with my partner, Nathan, who is also coming on board with the business, and our three little Yorkshire Terriers. Thereās nothing better than getting out for a walk, enjoying the countryside and spending quality time together.
An experienced operator who has a real love of Yorkshire and enjoys developing his teams, the property. Looks like the perfect fit!
Best of luck Luke!
