A brief History of the Marlborough House Hotel in Oxford

This Home away from home hotel opened its doors to academics and students in Oxford in November 1990. The idea was born when Mr and Mrs Percy were travelling widely in Australia and found bed & breakfasts with kitchenettes in each bedroom. The Marlborough House Hotel was purpose built, with refrigerators and microwaves in each room for guest with the addition of crockery and cutlery. This made it very comfortable for long term guests who did not want to dine out and wanted breakfast in the comfort of their own rooms. The Marlborough House Hotel is the only establishment in Oxford, Oxfordshire offering this bespoke facility.

Many guests visiting us enjoy the luxury of this freedom.
