Don’t forget our ‘mouthwatering’ BBQ on the beautiful beach at Mother Ivey’s on Wednesday evening. Gary Dutton Butchers from Wadebridge will be serving up delicious burgers, sausages and other yummy treats. There really is nothing better than enjoying delicious food watching the sun set over the bay. All profits from our popular beach BBQ’s this year are donated to two very important local causes, the Padstow Lifeboat Crew Fund and Surfers Against Sewage. Remember to keep a lookout for the practice Lifeboat Launch at 6pm!

The Camel Trail makes for a great day out! The Padstow end is just a 10 min walk from Sunny Corner. Even less if you have your bikes! Bike hire available in Padstow if not.
Pack a picnic and cycle/walk even run the trail! Enjoy its stunning scenery. There are also coffee stops along the way.

A Very Good Thursday Moaning Everyone, from Hawkers Cove, near Padstow, on Thursday 23rd July 2026 and welcome to today's Ramblings.........

Sorry for the repetition, but I do appreciate you reading this 'Long Winded Boring Drivel' on a regular basis, and clicking on 'like'......... but would appreciate it if you could comment as well, and if possible, click on the share button, and send it to some unwitting friend, colleague or Facebook group, which will increase my rating on Facebook............

After another cloudy start yesterday, it was a beautiful day, and I opened at 11.00am, thinking that I was working alone, but when I lifted out the window, my happy helper was there, as her plans had been cancelled, and together, we saw a steady stream of people, throughout the day.........
It was extremely busy from the start and I would have struggled on my own, so I was very glad to see her.......

Lots of yesterday's visitors, admitted to reading this rubbish, every morning and wanted to say hello, including Elaine and John, with their son Jack, from Sandbach, holidaying with Jenny and Peter, John's parents........ they all seemed to be getting on very well, (but Peter did say that he'd speak to me privately, to tell me what he really thought)........
Also Andrew and Carol, from Lincolnshire, and Alison from Stratford upon Avon (I was disappointed not to get any quotes from Shakespeare, but it was not to be, or not to be).
See what I did there!
A lovely couple, Charlie and Abby, from London, who only got married on Saturday and were visiting Cornwall, for their honeymoon.......... I asked him what he thought of marriage and he said that it was very good, (so far)........... they were obviously very much in love, and I hope that they will always be as happy as they are at this moment!

Finally Sarah and Crispin from Wadebridge....... Sarah used to work in a record shop in Wadebridge, called 'Record Select' with another young lady called Kim, and she remembered me as a regular customer, thirty odd years ago, when I was DJing, full time....... she's got a blooming good memory!

It was lovely to see everyone and to have a chat, and I look forward to seeing any of you, who can get to us today, so make sure that you say hello and introduce yourselves..........

Today is going to be sunny with a gentle breeze and a zero percent chance of rain........ with high UV and very high pollen count........

So, once again, a beautiful day for a walk along the Coast Path to Hawkers Cove, or indeed, anywhere in our beautiful county of Cornwall.........
I'll be here, with one of my happy helpers, from 11.00am to 3.00pm, and will be delighted to welcome as many of you as possible, to our tiny bit of Paradise, away from the crowds in Padstow........ so make sure that you say hello, when you visit, and tell me who you are......... so that I can put faces to names.

Sold all the Quiches, yesterday, so will be baking today, followed by 100+ scones, (and possibly a Victoria Sandwich), which will be ready to serve when we open, at 11.00am.
I didn't get time to make my Very Lemony Lemon Drizzle Cakes, yesterday, so I will endeavour to get those in the oven today, as well, so they will hopefully be available from tomorrow............ (if not later today).

Sorry to keep repeating myself, but it is very important for you to stay hydrated, during the very hot weather, so don't forget that we will happily fill up your water bottles, free of charge, whether you are a customer, or just walking past, so please call in and ask...........

Low tide, in Padstow, is at 6.50am and 7.23 this evening and high tide is at lunchtime (12.57pm), so Hawkers Cove won't be accessible across the beach, during our opening hours, and you'll need to use the Coast Path..........

Tonight's moon, is still in its first quarter stage, and half of it will be visible, from 4.54 this afternoon through until 12.12am tonight.............
Not much to see, last night, when Alfie took me round the block at about 10.00pm, with no wildlife of any description!

Sunrise was at 5.32am, and sunset is at 9.19 tonight, so just under two minutes, less daylight than yesterday, as the days keep getting shorter.......

Today's view, from my bedroom window, looking across to Polzeath and Trebetherick, at 5.00am appeared to be much more promising, for a beautiful sunrise, so we might be able to produce the video that I've been attempting for the last few days..........
Just setting my phone up to start the video, at 5.25 and a thick mist has totally obliterated the view, so I am now videoing......... nothing!
A white out!
My new career, of being a film producer, is cursed, so perhaps it will have to wait until tomorrow........ again!

Here's a still pic of today's amazing view, at 5.35am...........

Looking forward to a glorious day today, once the mist burns off, and don't forget that our chilled Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice is back on the menu, and the lemon zest and juice is still ready to incorporate into my Lemon Drizzle Cakes, (and possibly Lemon Meringue Pies, sometime soon).........

Hoping to see lots of you later.........
I'm off to bake some goodies!

Please leave a comment, (and share) if you have time.........
Loads of love from Hawkers Cove........

Happy holidays! xx
