The Cross House
The Cross House is a landmark in Padstow. It has had many an interesting owner, and a very varied history. Built in the 1700’s, a house of some sort has sat on this spot for many centuries past. There are stories a plenty surrounding the house, some true, some a bit fanciful. It was owned in the late 1960’s by our grandmother Doreen (Dodo) Martin, who ran it as a hotel for several years until she retired. Since then it has changed hands several times, and has not had the best of care taken of it. We have been working mostly quietly, to renovate it, and restore it to its former Georgian glory.
