Sad news and condolences to PPGM Dougie's family and the masonic brethren of Argyll & The Isles. An incredible champion for his local community and credit to the Craft.

Douglas Trevor Philand, known to many as Dougie, served the Mid Argyll area as a local councillor for 19 years and latterly held the office of Provost of Argyll and Bute.

He was already missed at the lodge, being unable to attend for some time but this is further sad news. His funeral will be held on Tuesday August 11th at Craigton Crematorium at 2.30pm. After the service, Jim’s family will host refreshments at South Western Social and Recreation Club, 20 Corkerhill Rd, Glasgow G52 1SE.

Brethren, sad and doleful tidings that Br. Edwin McNee P.M. has passed to the Grand Lodge above after a period of poor health and treatment. He passed peacefully overnight on Tuesday with his wife Helen at his side.

His funeral will be held at Hurlet Crematorium, Barrhead at 2pm on Thursday 18th June at 2pm, with a gathering at Lodge Georgetown 1170 to follow.

Eddie will be sorely missed. A Royal Navy man with a rapier wit, his shield in our lodge bears his Marathon medal.
