Castlerag and Horse Gin cottages are converted from workshops/stables and are among the earliest buildings in Parkend. They are named after old coal mines in the immediate vicinity as the main house was previously the offices of the Parkend Deep Navigation Collieries Ltd. The cottages are surrounded by forest which has an abundance of tracks and trails for walking and cycling, both cottages are self catering and have off road parking and secluded outside sitting areas with views across the surrounding countryside.
