Just back from a lovely impromptu trip to The Hawthorns. Even on a rainy weekend in February we found loads of new places to explore in the Ribble Valley (and a LOT of delicious food to eat 😋)
Trips to Slaidburn, Waddington and Whalley, plus enjoyed cooking a huge lasagne and cracking open a bottle of fizz by the fire at The Hawthorns.

So lucky to have this on our doorstep. Only ten miles from the house. Probably one the most beautiful walks I’ve been on. A four mile loop round Malham Cove and Janet’s Foss. So much to keep the kids entertained as well. Great catching up with friends .llusty. Rounded off with a pint or two at Listers Arms in Malham.

Some mementos went up today at The Hawthorns. A framed Last Chance to Dance poster by .studio and also the fox from The Greatstone Hotel gifted by Adrian and jujued up by . Also the house is still available for next weekend so if anyone fancies a last minute winter break it’s available for £750!!!

Yesterday afternoon was spent nailing slices of ash logs to the back of the kitchen cupboards. Pleased with overall result. Previous guests will remember the decorative loose logs which were stored there but unfortunately disappeared into the fire. These ones aren’t going anywhere 😆.

We’ve given one of our favourite room in the house a refresh. The garden room or le jardin as likes to call it has got some new plants and we’ve painted the wooden ceiling to make it feel more cozy. This room is great for any time of day. From a relaxing coffee in the morning through to a games evening around the wood burning stove. We still have a couple of weekends available in December so please get in touch if you’d like to book.

Quick nosey round the bedrooms at The Hawthorns. We’ve had fun theming each of the upstairs rooms according to the seasons. They are all still works in progress as we try to create peaceful spaces to rest and recharge. Which is your favourite? 1. Spring (king size en-suite) 2&3. Summer (king size) 4&5. Autumn (twin) 6&7. Winter (double en-suite). 8&9. Annex (double en-suite) 10. Bunk room.
