Wow! 😍 Who would have thought we'd be treated to a display like this right here in the Scottish Borders?

Beautiful curtains of purple, pink and green lighting up the night sky above Peebles. Nature putting on an absolutely spectacular show! 🌌

🏰 A few days exploring Barnard Castle & County Durham

We’ve just had a lovely little break exploring Barnard Castle, and what a fantastic place it is!

From wandering through the atmospheric ruins of the castle, to exploring the beautiful gardens and historic buildings at Bowes Museum, there was plenty to keep us occupied.

We even managed a bit of sunshine along the way ☀️ — although the autumn chill is definitely starting to make an appearance!

Barnard Castle itself is a lovely mix of history, independent shops, good food and plenty of character. The perfect place for a few days away in the motorhome. 🚐

Sometimes you don't need to travel hundreds of miles to find somewhere special. ❤️

🍂 Autumn is coming to Scotland… and look what we found! 🍄🚐

There’s something pretty special about exploring Scotland in autumn.

The forests start to change colour, the crowds thin out, the light gets softer… and you start noticing all sorts of little surprises along the way. 🍂🌲

We came across these on a recent walk and the first one stopped us in our tracks!
It was quite possibly the biggest field mushroom either of us has ever seen! 😂🍄

And there were two of them, right at the top of Hammy hill — you could actually spot them from quite a distance away!

Then, tucked away amongst the moss in the woods, we found this beautiful little fly agaric. ❤️

It's these unexpected little discoveries that make exploring Scotland so much fun.

And doing it by motorhome means you can spend the day out walking, exploring and finding places like this, before heading back to your cosy motorhome for a brew and putting your feet up. ☕️🚐

Autumn really is a fantastic time to explore Scotland.

From the Highlands and islands to the west coast, and even further afield, our vans are off exploring and giving their customers the chance to experience Scotland from their own little home on wheels. 🚐🏔️🌊

It's always brilliant seeing the live map looking like this — especially as we're getting towards the end of our main season.
