Amazing secluded bay beneath the site.
The transition from Crawley Wood to Tor Bay is a shock to the senses. One minute you're walking on soft, damp soil beneath a heavy canopy of leaves, completely sheltered from the wind. Then, the trees suddenly give way to soft sand, and you're hit with the full force of the sea breeze and the sight of that massive limestone headland jutting out into the water.
The best part about Tor Bay is that you actually have to work a little bit to get there, which keeps it feeling like a proper hidden spot. The walk through Crawley Wood sets the mood. It’s this quiet stretch of old trees and winding paths where everything feels completely tucked away from the rest of the world. Then, just as you start smelling the sea air, the trees open up, and you’re standing right on a beautiful sweep of sand.
Once you're on the beach, the big limestone headland completely steals the show. The contrast between the deep, shady woods and the open beach makes it an ideal place to enjoy the scenery and clear your head.
