The walks. The routes. The views.

But what often shapes the trip just as much is what happens after those long days outside.
Where you come back to.
How well you sleep.
Whether your body actually switches off.

The North Lakes have a way of amplifying this, big scenery, quieter evenings, darker skies.
When the base is right, everything else feels easier.

It’s been a while since I last posted, and a lot has changed here. Some of our old ash trees have had to come down due to ash dieback, opening up spaces we never expected. And for those of you who’ve visited us over the years, we also said goodbye to our beloved Whiskas. He was part of the place for so long, and we know many of you loved him too ❤️

Sorted? We’re 15 mins from Ullswater.

Beautiful walk to the Rannerdale bluebells. I parked way too far away by accident, but it worked out in the end — ended ...

Beautiful walk to the Rannerdale bluebells. I parked way too far away by accident, but it worked out in the end — ended up including Rannerdale Knotts in the route, which was stunning. Definitely couldn’t have done it without the OS Maps app. The bluebells weren’t quite the carpet of purple I was hoping for, I think they could down the some rain but still absolutely worth the adventure.

First time up Catbells and it did not disappoint! Only 20 minutes away and treated to amazing views and perfect weather ...
