A foodie country pub with rooms...The Queen’s Head is a village pub with a difference. Lovingly renovated, and retaining much of its 17th Century character, its interiors offer everything you want from a cosy country pub – a roaring fire in the Winter, a copper-topped bar, original stone walls and exposed-beam ceilings – and it’s as loved by locals and their dogs as it is by visitors to the area.

We have six bedrooms where you can lay your head after a day’s exploring (and eating) – they’re each individual, but all are full of character, with original art, antique furniture and the important things done well – great beds, soft linens, generous toiletries, and an excellent breakfast. Looking for somewhere delicious to dine this May half term?

We're open every day from 12:30pm until late, perfect for casual dining, family dinners, or catching up with friends.

Pizza and refreshing drinks are our speciality, so whether you've been for a dip in the river or a walk on the fells or cycling the local trails, we'll always try to make room for you at the Queen's Head.

We stop taking food orders at 8:30pm (last orders 8:15pm), so come hungry!
