Wrapped around the southern tip of Ullwater, England’s most stunning lake, the Estate has 100 acres of ancient woodland to explore along with spectacular crags, a fantastic Waterfall Wood walk, a lovely little tarn, and a private forshore for picnicking, boating or fishing as well as being the starting point of a multitude of the finest Lakeland walks. Just off the A592 at the foot of the picturesque Kirkstone Pass and easily accessible from the M6, the Estate is ideally centrally located to explore the whole of the Lake District and is within a short distance of Penrith, Keswick, Windermere, Ambleside, Bowness and Kendal. The villages of Glenridding and Patterdale are only a ten minute walk away and in each you will find local shops, pubs and restaurants providing plenty of options to eat and shop. There are supermarkets in Penrith (13 miles) and, through the summer months, a regular farmers’ market at Pooley Bridge (9 miles). With a choice of styles and sizes, our self-catering accommodation is ideally suited to those who enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside and all are within easy walking distance of some of the most famous fells – Helvellyn, St. Sunday Crag, Dollywagon Pike and Place Fell to name but a few.
