In this episode of our Great Cumbrian Escape series, we followed the Eamont Way, a 5.5‑mile riverside walk from North Lakes Hotel, Penrith, straight to Pooley Bridge.

It’s a gentle, family‑friendly route, and our dog George loved it.

Along the way, you’ll see quiet stretches of Cumbrian countryside as you follow the River Eamont into the Lake District National Park, before arriving in a village that feels like the very best of the Lake District: quaint, picturesque, and full of character.

With the train station just a short walk from the hotel, and so many bus routes throughout the Lake District, you don’t need a car to explore.

This route is the perfect example of how easy it is to slow down and discover Cumbria on foot.

Additionally, UB1 & UB2 buses, are available to transport people around the valley when they arrive here. The bus visits places like Aira Force, Howtown, and Lowther Castle.

This week, we hosted our TempleSpa Launch Event, celebrating our exciting partnership with TempleSpa as our primary spa brand.

It was wonderful to see so many guests and members attend, learning more about the products, discovering their benefits, and enjoying the opportunity to experience the skincare range first hand.

We look forward to welcoming the TempleSpa team back to North Lakes Hotel for our Spa Christmas Market this November.
