Our weekday morning walk with Rosie now requires a head torch, the dark walks at this time of year are not our favourites but in recent weeks have had an added bonus.

Hedgehogs!

And quite a few of them..
Most mornings we see them in the garden, at the very least their trails.

There have also been quite a few out and about on our 2 mile Parkhead loop.
It got us thinking it was time we finally made a winter residence for one.

I took a few pictures to share, I hope you like them, and maybe feel inspired to have a go yourselves. It was easier than I expected. Don’t tell Liz I said that😳

Thank you to Cranstons Butcher + Maker for our sandwiches, purchased from our local Kirkoswald Community Shop, and Ullswater Steamers for the opportunity to see the valley from a completely different angle.

An impromptu day off yesterday with Mr C and Rosie 💕
We headed off to Lowther, walked to Helton, across the fell to Askham and back to Lowther Castle and Gardens.
